Chapter Six
It was the weekend before Halloween. Because the holiday fell on a school night, kids were out trick-or-treating tonight. Alaya didnât decorate for the occasion, but she did have a big bowl of candy by the front door. Over the years, the number of trick-or-treaters had dwindled so she began purchasing the good candy. She didnât give out fruit. Sheâd always hated the neighbors who tried to enforce healthy eating habits on a holiday. No, her bowl was filled with miniature Snickers, Hershey bars, and bags of M&Mâs.
At eight, she would turn off her porch light. Alex was due to arrive in half an hour. She couldnât contain her smile whenever she thought of him. Last night he had come over and they had watched scary movies to get in the mood for the holiday. Well, theyâd intended to watch them. Instead, theyâd ended up making love on the floor in front of her couch. And then again against the wall in her bedroom. Alayaâs face felt hot and flushed as she thought of how theyâd fucked each other with such fierce passion. At one point, Alex had even bitten her breast. Instead of that distracting her, it had made her even wilder in her desire to have him thrusting inside her. What was it about that man and biting that turned her on so much?
Alaya applied shiny lip gloss to her full lips. She was satisfied with her appearance. The black leather bustier and pants she wore emphasized the darkness of her hair against her flawless caramel complexion. She and Alex were attending Sheilaâs Halloween party. They were dressing as a biker couple. It surprised her how much she liked the risqué outfit.
The doorbell rang. She was greeted by a tiny fairy, Spiderman, and their mother. The kids were thrilled when she let them take as much candy as their tiny hands could hold â which wasnât much. As she waved them goodbye, she noticed that her neighbor across the street sat on her porch in a rocking chair. Dressed as a witch, she had a large faux cauldron filled with candy at her side. Jack-o-lanterns were on each of her steps. Cut outs of ghosts and black cats hung from her roof. Alaya shook her head. It was just like Mrs. Johns to go all out with her decorations. She did it for every holiday. In a couple of weeks, her yard would be festooned for fall with leaves, pumpkins, squash and cornucopia. A turkey would make a brief appearance before Thanksgiving. Christmas would bring reindeer, Santa, a nativity scene, and enough lights to be seen from outer space.
Alexâs black Mercedes turned into her drive. Grinning, she went back inside to turn off the lights, lock up, and grab her purse. By the time she returned outside, heâd gotten out and opened her door for her. Sliding into the car with Alex, she couldnât help but be impressed. He was gorgeous as always. The black leather jacket gave him the appearance of an irresistible bad boy.
