With only my blazer beneath us for comfort, we cuddled in the afterglow. I hated to look at my watch, but it was inevitable.

“What time is it?” she asked.

“It’s time we either went for lunch, or we grab something on campus.”

She took my wrist and saw it for herself. “Yikes, I nearly forgot, I have a meeting with my advisor, damn.”

“I have my next class starting soon.”

We stood and helped each other tidy up our appearance. She fetched a pen out of her backpack and scribbled her number on the palm of my hand. I then wrote mine on hers, feeling like I would get detention for being naughty when I got back to school. Chatting all the way back to campus, we kissed before parting ways.

“You owe me breakfast,” she said.

“I never squelch on bets. I’m good for it, but you never guessed my age to give me a chance for a free dinner.”

“That’s because you’re totally awesome at any age. And Sweetheart, I’d buy you dinner no matter what.”

I simply glowed from this woman. We were equally reluctant to let go, but alas, we scurried to our engagements with so much promise for hooking up again. I began counting the seconds until the next time.
