Chapter One

Drew Davidson came home from work exhausted and angry. He’d just been fired for something a coworker did, but his boss had favored the other employee because of their friendship.

His foul mood was immediately heightened as soon as he walked in the door. His eighteen-year-old stepdaughter, Kelly, obviously wasn’t expecting him home so early. She was lounging on the couch in her nightgown and panties, swigging vodka straight from the bottle and reading one of her fashion magazines.

“Kelly Marie Spitzer, what do you think you’re doing?” his voice boomed through the living room.

“Daddy!” she gasped, tossing her magazine to the floor and struggling to put the cap back on the bottle. “I… What are you doing home?”

“You are in serious trouble, young lady,” he snarled, his eyes red with fury. “What did I tell you last time you broke into my liquor cabinet?”

“I know, but I…” Kelly tried to say, her shaky hands rattling the bottle on the coffee table as she tried to set it down.

This was the last straw. Drew was in a frenzy. He couldn’t think. He hadn’t felt so much rage in years. He yanked Kelly by the arm and sat down on the couch, pulling her over his lap.

“What are you doing?” she shrieked with indignation.

“I’m teaching you a lesson!” Drew growled.
