If the long walk through the Golden Palace to the Council of Kings took forever, the walk back to the ship takes no time at all. Khan keeps his hand on my head, forcing me to cuddle against him. His purr is at full throttle, intensifying with every step. By the time we’ve left the heat of Aurus’s kingdom for the cool air of the ship, my body is responding to the steady, confident sound. The way Khan’s chest vibrates doesn’t hurt, either. And the smokey chocolate scent rising off his skin makes my mouth water, and my core clench. It makes no sense, but arousal rolls over me, drowning out all logic, pulling me under.

A door hisses shut behind us with a sound like the Stone King’s voice. It startles me out of my fog. Human females, portals, serum. They’re going to steal women like me, and turn them into Omegas. I have to stop it.

“The humans and the serum—you can’t do this…” I pull back to state my case. Mistake. My eyes meet Khan’s, and a tsunami of arousal crashes over me. My own scent rises, thick and sweet.

“Omega,” Khan purrs.

“Khan, please—”

But he's already pressed me back onto the bed. He lets out a soft, sexy growl and my body shudders, fluid gushing from my sex as my clit throbs. I’m reaching for him, whimpering.

“Hush, little Emma. All will be well,” he murmurs. His gentle words bely his violent manner as he rips the robe off me, and swings himself over my body to fuck me.

My protest rises and breaks against the wall of my need, becoming nothing.
