As soon as she was back inside of her private quarters once more, Luce went straight to her cabinet. Now, she lifted her potion bottle. She took a sip of Satisfait, frowning when it tasted bitter on her tongue.

Why would it? When, if she closed her eyes, she could still taste the salty, musky tang of Az’s cock as she lavished it with her mouth.

Nothing tasted as good as he did, just like nothing felt as good as Az’s awed touch on her skin as he cupped her chin, marveling down at her. So what if she was blowing him at the same time? That wasn’t the stroke of a man demanding him to suck him harder, take him deeper. It was a careful caress belonging to a male who couldn’t believe his good luck.

And how did she repay his reverence? An offer of a quickie just to scratch an itch she shouldn’t have even had in the first place.

Luce thought about taking another sip. Instead, she threw the bottle, smashing it on her bedroom floor.

The purple potion winked up at her. With a huff, she glared at it. Magic whirled around her, disappearing the mocking potion.

A black streak lingered, a reminder of her momentarily loss of control.

And she wasn’t so sure she meant wasting her freshly brewed Satisfait.

She dropped her head in her hand, fingertips probing her hairline. Some part of her, long forgotten and buried so deep it was almost another memory, wanted to return him to say sorry.

Only, the head witch did not apologize.

The head witch didn’t apologize, but Luce just might.

Too bad she couldn’t just return to the rooftop. He’d already flown away, and Goddess also knew where he’d flown off too. A flash of jealousy had her wondering if he was looking for a pussy to sink that heavy erection into before she remembered that he’d never been with a female before.

And it wasn’t that he wasn’t attracted to females. Everything that has passed between them since last night proved otherwise. Death was most definitely into her. But was it because she was Luce? Or because she was supposedly his soulmate?

Supposedly?

Ha.

There was no denying the bond between them, try as they might. And as she wished her potion would do something—anything—to distract her from thinking about the angel, she also found herself reaching for the whisper of a tether that settled inside of her some time since she met him.

When she grasped it, she found that it was blocked. Not when she focused on it, though. Luce was the most powerful witch of this last century. It was child’s play to open it up.

And if it struck her that the block between them fell easier than even she expected—almost as if it was completely one-sided… on her side—Luce had decades of experience when it came to faking.

She tugged, then she waited.

Twenty minutes later, she heard tapping at her window. Peering out of it, she saw Azrael hovering just outside, his wings flapping gently to keep him aloft.
