Chapter Twelve

Abby

I close the bathroom door behind me and take a deep breath. My stomach is a riot of butterflies and I’m sweating. I slip out of my dress and grab a wipe out of my bag, cleaning myself off with trembling hands. After putting on deodorant, I wash my face and moisturize before slipping into the little blue nightgown I bought for tonight. It hits me in my upper mid-thigh. The front dips down enough that it shows off the little bit of cleavage I have.

I brush my teeth and gargle with rinse. After I brush out my hair, I fold up my dress and put in my bag. I stand back up and look myself over in the mirror. I’ve gained back a lot of the weight I lost in the middle of my massive depression. I’ve always been curvy, and luckily it’s remained proportionate to my short stature.

I run my hands down my sides, then shake my hands out and take some deep breaths. I grab the doorknob and turn it but hesitate before I pull the door open. “You can do this. He’ll go slow.” I pull open the door and step out into the hall. “Ben?”

“I’m in the kitchen,” he calls out.

I step around the corner and find him leaning against the counter. He brings the bottle to his lips but freezes when he catches sight of me.

“Damn, baby.” He sets the bottle on the counter and makes his way toward me, a feral look in his eyes. “Did you get this for me?”

All I can do is swallow the lump in my throat and nod my head. He scoops me up into his arms and kisses me behind my ear before he carries me through his house and into his bedroom. He stands me at the end of his bed. “I just wanted to make sure that you’re ready for this. I will wait for as long as you want or need.”

I take a deep breath. “I don’t want to wait.” I slip the straps of my nightgown down my arms and let the gown slide down my body until it’s around my ankles. I stand in front of him and my stomach flips as I watch his eyes widen and then slide down my body. I want, with desperation, to cover myself but I don’t.

“Jesus, you’re testing my willpower, baby. I wanted to take this nice and slow, but damn, you’re making that impossible.” He pulls his shirt over his head, and my mouth dries up. He’s covered in tattoos and defined muscles. His erection his straining against his pants and looks huge. Ben holds my gaze as I hear the clink of his belt and the zipper being unzipped. He kicks them off and then holds his hand out to me. “Come here, baby.”

I take his hand and let him lead me to his bed. I climb up after him, but I’m unsure of where he wants me. I was never nervous
