Chapter Sixteen

Alex

The weekend is finally over, and Brad will be back home sometime this evening. My shifts at the library and my homework kept me busy for the most part. I get Isabella back in the morning so I am excited I get to spend one more night with Brad. I texted Darrin earlier and told him to have her ready early in the morning for me so I can drop her off at school before I go to class. I haven’t seen her in three days, so I’m ready for some of her sweet kisses and hugs.

I spend the day, once again, trying to stay as busy as possible so I won’t glance at the time every five minutes wondering why time is dragging. Most of the day was spent working on homework. It’s crazy how much homework there is in each class. It’s so easy to fall behind.

It is almost seven o’ clock when my phone dings with a text from Brad.

Brad: Hey babe. I’m thirty minutes out. Can’t wait to see you.

My heart does a little flip. Is it crazy how much I miss being apart from him so soon?

Me: I’m waiting. I’m beyond ready to see you!

Falling back onto his bed, I sigh happily, with a huge smile on my face.

When I hear the guys downstairs get loud all of a sudden, I know Brad has walked in. They have missed him as much as I have.

I wait patiently for him to come up to his room. I’m in sleep shorts and tank, so I don’t feel that comfortable walking downstairs. The moment I hear footsteps on the stairs, my heart starts beating faster in anticipation. I’m sitting on the edge of his bed, the bed we share some nights together, chewing on my nails.

The door opens, and I leap off the bed and run into his arms. He only had enough time to let his bag fall to the floor so he could catch me. I squeeze him to death then pepper his face with kisses.

“I take it someone missed me,” he jokes as he smiles down at me. With his hands on my waist, he sets me back down on my feet and walks us further inside the room. “Let me show you how much I’ve missed you,” he murmurs softly, and I go weak in the knees. He kisses me deeply, his hands trailing up my sides to cup my face.

Brad scoops me up in his arms, taking me by surprise. I let out a laugh when he tosses me onto the bed. He slips off his shoes and then pulls his shirt over his head, tossing it aside on the floor. Crawling onto the bed, he hovers over me. This moment grows more intimate as his eyes pierce mine. “I’ve been thinking on the way here, about how I don’t think you’ve been shown what love truly is. Has anyone worshiped you, Alex? Have they caressed every inch of your skin with their mouth?” Swallowing hard, I shake my head, but something tells me he already knew my answer.
