What a bunch of crock—his money never defined him; it had nothing to do with how he was and never did. He was still the same guy now as he was before the jackpot, only with easier access to the best surfs and not having to think about the cost of anything. He could comfortably live the way he wanted to and never even had a reason to throw his money around till now, in a desperate bid to keep Erica close to him.

He was sorry the impression Jennifer left with was so off-base and frustrated by her misinterpretation of his latest actions. Still, he was glad to be free to have his cake and eat it, too; after all, with Connor still flailing in the challenge, and Alec having long dropped out, no doubt he had already won the game and Alec’s beach house was his.

Now he could get the girl.
