Argos came back with a few guns. He was gone a while but said that he needed to go to a few different stores so that he wouldn’t get red flagged, which made sense. Even though he has like a hundred different IDs on him, so the chances of finding him would be hard. The man knows what he's doing when it comes to that side of the world.

He left as soon as he spoke to Hades about when they will next talk to each other, he told me that I can talk to Ruby as soon as they get to the safe house, and he will tell her things that she can and cannot talk about.

I sit at the table as Hades looks over the guns then puts them into the bag. “Have you ever shot a gun?” he asks, not looking over at me.

“No,” I tell him. Never had to use one before, so why would I.

“Come here.” Walking over to him, he hands me a gun.

“It’s heavier than I thought it would be,” I say, taking the gun in both hands.

Hades moves behind me, taking my arms. “Have your arms out straight.” My body breaks out into goosebumps as he places his hand on my waist, as the other moves along my arms. I feel him taking a deep breath as his chest touches my back. “Line the gun up with who you’re shooting, and pull the trigger,” he tells me, his breath tickling my neck as he talks. “I’m hoping that you won’t have to use one, but just in case.” His hand caresses my hip, and I gasp and he takes a step back from me.

Turning around to face him, he pulls me forcefully into his arms, kissing me hard as his hands run over my back. I kiss him back, the arousal running through my veins. I can feel his hands on my ass, pressing me against him and I get to feel how hard he is. I feel him hard for me. He picks me up, and I wrap my legs around him, my hands around his neck, not wanting him to break the kiss.

He lays me on the bed, and for a split second, he breaks away from me before his lips are back on me. I can feel his hand moving up my inner thigh, slowly pushing my legs apart.

“Hades, I need to talk to you,” I begin as he starts kissing down my neck. “It’s important, so can—” I stop as he brings his face back up to mine. I lick my lips. “You see the thing is—” Just tell him, this might change everything, and he needs to know before this goes on. “I’ve never had sex before,” I blurt out, and Hades looks at me. It’s all over his face: Regret.

“You’re twenty-four. How?” The shock evident in his voice.

Leaning up a little, I answer him. “Henry had me followed, every day, and every night, if someone got close
