Chapter 10

Sienna

I’m sitting on the couch now, waiting for Cooper to join me after his shower. He went into the office this afternoon and brought dinner home. I’m impressed that he could focus enough to work, let alone move his body after what we did earlier today.

Closing my eyes, I picture what it was like to have him on top of me, the weight of his body resting on mine, the sound of his grunts in my ear, all of it, just… God, it was incredible.

“You ok there, kitten?” Cooper’s voice filters through my fantasy.

I pop my eyes open and see him leaning in the doorway to the living room.

“Yeah,” I say, my voice breathy and husky and giving away far too much.

Cooper quirks an eyebrow up, noticing my tone. “Thinking impure thoughts, are we?”

“Just remembering earlier today,” I smile up at him innocently.

His eyes darken and I know he knows what I’m talking about. “Ah, so not impure thoughts,” he says, stalking towards me. “Dirty thoughts,” he says once he gets to the couch, caging me in with one strong arm on either side of me. “Fucking filthy thoughts,” he growls.

And then he kisses me.

No, kissing isn’t a strong enough word for what’s happening. Cooper is ravishing me, consuming me with his teeth, his tongue, his devil lips. I feel the couch cushion press down with the weight of his knee next to me as Cooper towers over me and tilts my head up by tugging my hair back. He presses me into the couch and places open-mouthed kisses down my neck while I gasp for air.

“Fuck,” he finally says, resting his forehead on mine. “You completely unravel me with one look, sweetness. How is that even possible?”

“I don’t know, but you do the same thing to me,” I tell him honestly. He kisses me once more, then pushes himself off of the couch.

“Alright, now that you’ve got me all worked up, I’m going to head to bed. I have to be up bright and early for my first day on the new job,” he says.

I smile and follow Cooper down the hall but stop when I get to his bedroom door. When he realizes I’m not following him to the guest room I’ve been sleeping in, he turns around.

“Do you think maybe I could… stay in here with you tonight?” I ask. “I mean, we’ve already seen each other naked,” I shrug, hoping to not make a big deal about it.

Cooper walks back towards me and cups my face in his hands. “Sienna, I want you in there with me, baby, I do. But I want to respect your space and I want to keep my promise to wait until we’re both ready to have sex. I don’t know if I can control myself with your sexy little body next to me all night long.”

I nod and try not to let it hurt. I get it. I really do. And some part of me admires him for wanting to be noble and wait until I’m ready to take things to the next level.
