“There you are, you little slut,” I turned to see Hailey approaching with Todd in tow.

“Hey,” I smiled. “You left quite dramatically last night. What happened. Jason told me he ended it with you.

“He didn’t end it, deary,” taking a look around. “Is he here with you, now?”

“Getting drinks.”

“Just for the record, I dumped him.”

“Not what he said.”

“Of course not. Do you think he would admit to incestuous thoughts?”

“What?”

“As he was pumping me last night he kept shouting your name. ‘I’m gonna cum inside you, Claire. Ohh, I’m cuming, Claire.’ Surprised you didn’t hear him. He was kinda loud.”

My blood was boiling. I wasn’t going to put up with Hailey’s abuse any more. I wound up and let fly the mother of all bitch slaps. The cold hard spank of my palm against her cheek rang out above the rave beat. Caught off guard, Hailey lost balance and had to clutch the table to keep from falling. Nearby heads turned.

“You fucking bitch,” she said, regaining her balance. “Todd, are you going to let that little cunt treat me like that?”

“Hell no,” raising his fist at me. Todd was big and athletically built. I closed my eyes and raised my hands in defense.

Nothing happened. Lowering my hand and opening my eyes I saw Todd on his knees wincing in pain, his fist being crushed in Jason’s mighty right palm.

“It’s not polite to hit women, pal.”

“Let him go, jackass,” Hailey said, slapping Jason, clutching her hand in pain as if she’d just foolishly slapped a rock. Jason let go of Todd, who slunk away nursing his poor hand.

“You okay, sis,” handing me a margarita. It never tasted so good. Jason had a couple shots of whiskey and a pint of beer. He tossed them down rapid fire and then worked on the beer. “Hailey, seems like you been talkin’ bad shit behind my back. Do it again and we’ll really see how much pain you and your friend can handle.”

“You think you’re still in Afghanistan. You’re back in America now. You can’t threaten people here, you jerk.”

“Get outta my face bitch,” chugging his beer.

“With pleasure, come on, Todd,” walking away into the crowd. “Why didn’t you stand up to that jerk, Todd….”

“Don’t let me catch you in here again,” Jason shouted after them. He slid next to me and put his massive arm around me. “You okay, sis. You look a little shaken.” I could feel his hot whiskey breath on my cheek as he spoke those words. Once again my brother came through for me, defending me. It felt nice to have him so close. My heart was racing. I was heating up, sweating, I fanned my face and smiled into my brother’s penetrating blue eyes.

“Actually,” I gushed, taking a sip of my margarita. “I don’t think I’ve ever been better.”

“And that’s the way I always want you,” covering my hand gently with his and tenderly squeezing. “I want to see that from here on out you get want you’ve always been longing for.
