Chapter 8

Finding Her Way Back Home

When the sun rose, Scarlet did as she said and was up and ready to leave to head back to Tennessee. Omar didn’t want to waste a lot of money, so he decided to stay behind and enjoy the rest of his trip - being that Scarlet kept her mouth closed about what she saw the night before. During the entire plane ride, Scarlet was anxious about landing so that she could visit the nearest urgent care to get her check up, get back home, and call her love, Cash.

Scarlet landed and went to the urgent care, as she anticipated, and when she went to see the doctor, they told her all they could. There was nothing wrong with her that they knew of at that moment, although the rest of her tests would take a week for the results to come back in. She headed back home and called Lita over so that she could tell her everything. As she took a hot shower, Lita knocked on the door, so she grabbed a towel and then got out to let her in.

“I’m starting to think you keep a close eye on me at all times because that was quick. You always get here fast; you sure you didn’t move closer to me?” Scarlet joked around as she made her way back into her room to slip on something comfortable. She picked out a baby blue sundress and brushed her hair down as Lita invited herself into Scarlet’s bedroom.

“Well, wassup, chicken head? How was your boo-cation, and why are you back so early?” Lita chewed her bubble gum and flopped her butt on Scarlet’s bed as she waited for answers.

“My so called boo-cation was horrible, and furthermore, I am back because I caught my so called boo fucking another man in the got damn family wine cellar. Then, he had the nerves to beg me not to tell his family. Hell, what if it was his grandfather who caught him because he was awake, watching his soap operas? Hell, older people in the States are always in bed before ten; the Irish men have stamina, lots of energy, and talent,” Scarlet explained as she watched the blank expression on Lita’s face. Lita couldn’t believe the things Scarlet had gone through, and she didn’t understand why she was so calm about it.

“What the fuck? Why you are so calm about this shit? Yo, this isn’t a joking matter. You were intimate with him, and he likes to fuck other men. I know you are hurting, Scarlet. There is no need to hide it from me. This is your best friend and your sister you are talking to.” Lita glanced at scarlet, trying to get a reaction.
