Chapter Six
So my first attempt to rile James into spanking me had failed. Not that it hadn’t been an enjoyable experience—just recalling the sensation of the wicked little butt plug buzzing in my arse as I came could bring a satisfied smile to my lips. But I hadn’t given up. Clearly, I needed to raise the stakes—hit him where it really mattered.
The perfect scheme occurred to me as I dusted James’ office. He’d gone on his regular eleven o’clock coffee break, leaving me alone for a couple of minutes. At first, I thought about accidentally deleting some important files from his computer. I knew I wouldn’t be causing any lasting problems—he could run a programme that would recover them—but I relished the panicky moments when he saw they’d disappeared. Then I noticed his agenda was open, letting me know his accountant and good friend, Geoffrey Baines, was coming over for a meeting in an hour’s time. James had been talking for a couple of days about making sure all his receipts were in order, as he needed to pass them on to Geoffrey for his tax return. An infinitely more fiendish idea struck me.
I knew James kept all his credit card slips and restaurant bills in an old biscuit box in the top drawer of his desk. Keeping an ear cocked for the sound of his approaching footsteps, I opened the drawer and pried the lid off the tin. Reaching inside, I pulled out a big handful of assorted pieces of paper and stuffed them into the pocket of my overall.
By the time he returned with his drink, the drawer was shut once more and I’d turned my attention to dusting the various knickknacks on the windowsill.
“If you’re finished, Lacey…” James gave a slight nod of his head towards the phone on his desk and I realised he must be about to go into a conference call.
“Of course, yes. If you need me, I’ll be hanging out the laundry. After that, I’ve just got the kitchen to do and that’s me done for the day.”
“I thought you went over to clean for that couple in Woodside Park on Friday afternoons?” James took a sip of his coffee.
“Not this week. They’re on holiday—got a neighbour popping in to collect the mail and water the plants, so they don’t need me. I thought I’d take the afternoon off.”
“Fair enough.” He nodded, half to himself.
He didn’t see my little smirk as I left the room. I pictured his confusion when he discovered the box half-empty, his attempts to recall where he might have put the missing receipts. Oh, I’d make it easy for him to find them and when he did, he’d be left in no doubt I’d taken them.
Even James’ remarkable self-control had its limits. This time, I was sure I’d done enough to earn a sound spanking.
