CHAPTER 1

"OH, ONE MORE THING, MATTHEW," Draken Almatto, CEO of Almatto Tech Sport, said into the speaker of his headset. "I see Charli Fontina on the schedule for next Tuesday. But I don't see any Robasm sessions for weeks. I thought we were moving faster on this."

From the office next door, his personal assistant, who also happened to be his cousin, responded in a murmur that failed to hide his amusement. "Ms. Fontina and Eliza will be here a week from Thursday for a session with the Robasm. You're not attending, though—you'll be out of town. Also for the session after that."

"Fuck." Draken's pet project, the world's most sophisticated robotic adult toy, a.k.a. the Robasm, was soon slated to be released to the public. To help launch it, Charli Fontina and Elizabeth Armitage-Gauthier had been hired to demonstrate the machine's capabilities. Charli also happened to be Draken's current—all right, obsessive—interest at the moment.

Anyway, he would much prefer to be present whenever she was using that robot.

"Speaking of Ms. Fontina, I received an email from her this morning," Matthew continued casually. "It appears she might not be able to make Tuesday's meeting after all. She'll let me know."

"She'll let you know."

"Naturally. You asked me to handle all the scheduling with Ms. Fontina."

Draken saw red. Red buttocks with freckles. "Did I remember to say fuck? Because I'd like to add another fuck to that. Matthew, that woman is a headache. No, she's a top-of-her-class cock-ache."

"I'll lend you Sally, if you like," Matthew offered.

"Fuck you. I don't need your Sallies. I have plenty of Marias and Angies and Terries, thank you very much."

"Whom you have not sampled since you met Ms. Fontina," Matthew pointed out. "What did happen yesterday while I was out sick, if I might inquire?"

"Can the humble act for once. There's nobody here. And if you were sick yesterday, I'll eat my backpack. Remember, I saw you Sunday night at the club with four of your redheaded kittens attached to you."

"Don't tell Mother," Matthew begged, then prompted, "Yesterday…"

"Yesterday…goddamn, she was beautiful. I think I reached new levels of bastardom, even for me. She took it all, though. And when she came…fuck, don't ask me about Charli at work."

"You brought her up."

"Is it like this for you with Eliza? The more you see her, the more you have to?" He was beginning to realize the more he wanted to see of Charli wasn't just physical. He found her highly entertaining on multiple levels. Never a dull moment when she was around.

"Not really. Eliza won't return my calls, much less throw open her legs any time I ask like your Ms. Fontina." Matthew sounded disgruntled. "In my case, the more I see her, the more I find myself having to fuck her out of my head. Word to the wise, Draken. Four is too many. Stop at three."

"Thanks for the tip. So Eliza's to blame for your night of debauchery?"
