I knew having Lucy under my roof would complicate things. Not even here a full twenty-four hours and she's already wearing down my resolve with her adorable sass and horrible taste in decorations. I've been wise to keep my distance.

"Stupid skeletons," I mumble, ripping my clothes off. I rush through my shower, half afraid she'll disobey my order and take everything down. I shouldn't want the brightness Lucy has brought into otherwise my staid existence, but damn if I don't like it.

After quickly drying off, I toss on a T-shirt and gym shorts. Probably not the best idea, given how my dick tends to greet Lucy, but hell, I'm thirty-five years old. I'm old enough to control my body parts. I grab the bakery box off the bed and head downstairs in search of my guest. It's not difficult to find her in the kitchen. She's on her toes with her back to me, fiddling with a drooping web in the corner.

I take a moment to admire the view. Her shorts have ridden up, showing off the crease where taut thighs meet a well-defined ass. When it becomes too much, I clear my throat, to announce my presence.

"Hmm," Lucy hums, making a big show out of checking her phone. "A shower in under ten minutes and with all that… mass. Must be a new world record."

Lucy leans on the counter across from me, her fingers drumming an upbeat tune on the island. "Spaghetti," she blurts out like an overly excited child. "And cupcakes," she adds when her eyes find the box I picked up from a well-known cupcake shop on my way home.
