Chapter 5

“No.”

I said it without thinking. I had no idea what he wanted from me, but I wasn’t going to give in to his demands. Mortimer didn’t give me long to take back my refusal. He stomped towards me, raised his fist, then suddenly pain exploded on the side of my face. Another couple of blows had me tasting blood and feeling like my eyeballs had been knocked out of their sockets. I breathed through the pain and swore to myself that he would pay dearly for striking me. I spit the blood out and readied myself for the next hits. Instead, he snatched a handful of hair and slung my head around, making me choke at the odd angles my neck was being twisted in.

“I HATE IT WHEN YOU SAY‘NO’TO ME!!!”Mortimer screeched, the man was practically foaming at the mouth.“Tell me I’m weak!! Tell me whore, so I can cum all over your face.”

He wanted me to demean him, and when I refused he beat me?Laboriously, I lifted my head to look that psycho in the face. Mortimer was fuming, his eyes were red and little veins all over his face and neck were bulging. With the flood light on, I could see that I was in a warehouse of some sort, abandoned and rotting. Mortimer’s clothes were piled on an ancient rusted metal office chair. There was a makeshift table with tools, tools I prayed were not going to be used on me. Also on that table was my purse, the contents dumped out. My wallet, a tampon, my car keys.

And my cellphone.

I had to get to it, no doubt Mortimer had turned it off, hopefully he hadn’t deliberately broken it.

One of my eyes was swelling up fast, blood and sweat trickled from a cut somewhere on my forehead that was seeping and stinging. Mortimer grabbed a hold of my hair again and yanked my head back until I couldn’t do anything else but look at him.

“You’re mine,”he sneered.“You’ll do as I say. You’ll say what I tell you to say. Do you hear me?”

“I can’t,”I spat defiantly.

“WHAT?!”

“I can’t because you’ve tied me up. Untie me and then I’ll say it, I’ll say what you want.”

“I don’t take orders from you! You do as Isay!”he yelled.

“But you still can’t get off without me, and I can’t help you unless you untie me.”

Mortimer responded by punching me in the stomach, knocking the wind out of me. However, as I huffed and struggled to find my breath again, he loosened the chains around my wrists. As soon as they were fully off I fell to the ground, feigning that I was too weak to stand. I pushed myself up by my palms but then collapsed back to the ground, putting on a show for Mortimer. He shuffled over to me.

“Hey, are you al—”was all that he got out before I swung my foot and swept Mortimer’s legs right from under him. He fell with a shout and a thud as his naked flesh met the damp cracked pavement.
