The next morning, I woke up spooning her. I could tell she was still asleep from her heavy yet soft breathing. I still couldn’t believe it. She was in my bed, bundled up under my covers and in my arms, snuggled so close to me. I needed to pee so badly, but I didn’t want to move. I wanted to fully enjoy her body right up against me. She faced away, but her hair was right under my nose. I used my fingertips to softly rub her arm, burying my face in her back, taking a deep inhale of the mixture of smells emanating from her shirt, a combination of her and fabric softener.

Why are you so perfect?

She let out a sleepy grunt, and her body did a full stretch. She then slowly turned over with squinty eyes, and when she saw me, she smiled.

Waking up to see that award-winning smile and those bright eyes was hands-down better than the best sunset photographed and flaunted on Tumblr. And boy, did Tumblr have some amazing pictures of nature, cats, and really attractive women cuddling, kissing, and grinding on each other.

“Good morning, beautiful,” I said and ran my fingers through her knotty hair.

“You’re a creep,” she said in her dream-drenched voice.

I laughed and kissed her on the forehead. Her face smelled like sleep and the exfoliating cream she used before we went to bed, and the smell of it made me kiss her forehead again.

“Want some breakfast?” I asked. She nodded. “The menu this morning is waffles, scrambled eggs with—”

“Bacon bits?”

I smiled. “With bacon bits. I remember our sleepovers.”

“Those were quite different than the one we just had.”

“Just slightly different.”

I planted my hand on the spot next to her to hoist myself out of bed to make her the best Valentine’s breakfast she’d ever had, but both of her arms wrapped around me. She yanked me in, and I fell right on top of her. Her chest served as a nice cushion. She let out a small grunt when I landed.

“Am I not allowed to leave?” I said.

She bit her lip and nodded. “Kiss me,” she said softly.

My whole body tingled. She could say it over and over again, and every time, my body would have that same intense tingle.

“But you have morning breath,” I said.

“I said kiss me, not put your tongue inside me,” she said more harshly—yet still charming.

“But I’m hungry,” I teased.

She then wrapped both of her legs around me, pinning my pelvis to hers. I could have just about died at that point. Her leg grip was strong; I couldn’t move even if I tried. Those hamstrings and calves I saw the night before, dear God.

“Now you’re stuck until you give me what I want,” she said.

My body didn’t even feel real, it was so overcome with desire. I kissed her—my mouth closed to hide the morning breath—but I kissed her so hard yet soft that I didn’t care about the breakfast of champions I was going to make her.
