Perhaps no more imaginative or chilling

illustration of the horror of Hitler's war

appeared than this picture (opposite) by

Stephen Lawrence for the Famous

Fantastic Mysteries issue of September

1945. It illustrated Joe Archibald's story of

what really happened to the Fuehrer at the

end of the war. 'Heaven Only Knows'

novel. The Monk. Paul Oban drew this

heading for Horror Stories' monthly

feature 'Chamber of Horrors'
