Michael stumbled back into the club. He had managed to catch a small glimpse of long black hair before his car was driven out of sight. The security guy at the bottom of the stairs was eyeing him dangerously as he made his way to the stairs. Walking up, he gulped a few times before knocking on the door at the end of the darkened hallway.

The door was opened by an Asian woman who was hands off but made him wonder if it wouldn’t be worth dying just to touch once. “What are you doing back here?”

“The case and my car were just stolen. I think it was Crissy Sheerton. That girl might seem like a high school student but she is much too skilled for one. She told me to say that someone attempted to end someone dear to her. She said the price for that was the loss of one shipment and my car.”

The Asian woman used a finger to beckon him inside and he was brought before Ben Pennington. Michael tossed the phone onto the desk as Ben said, “I heard what you said. Apparently the Sheerton family is more than they appear to be. We must get that case back before they learn what is in it. The case is a hard, durable composite. She shouldn’t be able to open it without the key. Marcos is not going to be happy about this. I will send you with another case and let you borrow a car. It wouldn’t do, not to make a delivery. You must be brave and face the music for losing your responsibility. Tirong and I will deal with the Sheertons. I never wanted to have to go this route but we have no choice. Tirong; you need to call up your brothers and send them to retrieve the case and kill the Sheertons.”

The Asian woman responded, “And what shall I tell my brothers, is the payment for their services?”

“We will give them two bags for free on the next delivery.”

“That should be enough. This will be taken care of quickly.”
