“GERHARD,” HERR NEUMANN came to Richter as he was very worried about a certain first-grader. “Bock and Krone must be sent home sooner, or Herr Krone will fall down.”

“Why shouldn’t they?” asked Herr Neumann. “We’ll board them on the train, and they’ll be accommodated there, but what about their things....”

“We’ll send them by post as forgotten things,” smiled the chancellor. “Thank you, my friend, I would not have understood the severity of the situation myself.”
