Today we live in a fast-paced, hectic world. We are frequently bombarded with overwhelming stimuli. We have more people in our lives than ever. We have more friends, more family weâre in touch with, more contacts for work. This could be because of social media and also because of all of our expanded technological capabilities. When life is this frenetic you canât help but wonder, what effects does this have on your health and state of mind? Are your mental and emotional health affected by potential stress caused by a busy life? Your physical health likely may be affected as well. We may not be able to escape the stress of modern life completely, but we can develop coping mechanisms that help us mitigate that stress and bring positive emotions and experiences into our reality. Our intention shall be to allow ourselves rest and relaxation in ample quantity and of a high quality amidst a joyful and fulfilling life filled with passion and love.
In the following section, youâll find an array of mindfulness meditations to help you center yourself and develop a relaxed yet focused mind. Meditation is our number one tool in the quest for greater mindfulness. The scientific benefits of meditation have been confirmed in numerous studies, as has been mentioned earlier. The spiritual benefits of meditation are much discussed among yogis and enthusiasts. But be aware, too, of the emotional benefits of meditation. When we meditate, we quiet the mind and give ourselves a break from the roller coaster of emotions.
When we are mindful, we are simply noticing, and we rarely get wrapped up in the drama within ourselves. Yes, we are all human beings. And no matter how much we meditate or how mindful we are, there will be times when we lose ourselves. We might lose our center but even that is temporary, as all things are. With consistent meditation practice we have the ability to bring ourselves back to center. With practice, it becomes a path we have walked many times. Itâs well worn, and we know how to get back home within ourselves. So, use this selection of meditations to find your own internal homeâone filled with calm, quiet, and mindfulness.
