Chapter Thirteen

“I’ve no practical experience, in bed with another male,” Arend told him with a diffident shrug. “A fact of which we are both most painfully aware at the moment.”

Jules sat up, kneeling between the man’s legs, choosing his words carefully. “You sired a son, which attests to a significant bit of experience.”

The king barked a laugh. “I did not, however, sire that lad upon a male such as yourself, Julian, no matter how much you might joke about providing me a brood.”

Julian laughed brightly. “No, but your success in the matter makes it patently clear that you’re not lacking in all bedroom knowledge.” Jules gave him a flirtatious smile. “In fact, having recently…” Jules didn’t complete that thought, knowing that his having been previewed to Arend’s son might bring them both a bit of shame.

“Having recently?” Arend supplied, and Jules smiled, shaking off that conversational thread.

“Rousingly well-done of you, siring a prince who is renowned for his beauty throughout the realm. Although, Your Highness…” Julian shivered, slowly raking his gaze from the king’s liquid blue gaze, down the front of his gorgeous waistcoat and ivory shirt sleeves, all the way to his toes. “It would be impossible, I should think, for any male to rival your own handsomeness.”

Arend’s dusky face turned ruddy. “You’re flirting with me.”

Jules scooted just a bit closer between the man’s parted thighs. “Shamelessly. Thank you for noticing.”

“Why need you bother? I’ve hired you. It’s as you said yester evening: you’re assured to me.”

“That is true, but I wish for more than perfunctory roles here.” Jules slid palms atop the king’s thighs, stroking a steady, circular motion that led ever-inward. “You see, I don’t merely service you now, my lord. I like you, as well. And the second part needn’t have occurred, but surely makes the first a great deal more pleasing.”

“I like you too. I did from the moment you bantered with me by that rusty gate.” Arend’s gaze moved across the room, as if he couldn’t stare Jules in the eye, not as he made that confession.

“You were a bit of a bastard.”

The king’s dark eyebrows rose up, but he smiled, all the same. “Cheeky, that.”

“You’ve already hired me. I’ve nothing to lose.” Jules stared up at his master through lowered lashes, wanting so very much to entice him. Eager to charm; desperate to dazzle. “Although by our contract, you may return me if dissatisfied.”

“I’m the one who doesn’t know his way around a thick cock or a tight cleft of cheek.”

“Ah, well, then you hired the right man.” Jules slowly stroked his hands up both the monarch’s powerful thighs, moving ever-upward in a tantalizing fashion. “For as it happens, I do know my way around the parts you mention, and would be honored to tutor you gently.”

Those pale blue eyes went wide for a quick moment. Shock? Wonder? Jules wasn’t sure, but then the king gave him a half smile. “I told your handler that I’m a quick study, but in need of tutoring.
