When the three of them returned to the MIT office, Ashley could see Neville and Tom were back, and Derek was still talking to them about the afternoon. Neville was very disappointed that whoever was at Spore’s cottage had managed to evade capture. He had been upstairs with Derek to explain the afternoon’s events, and they both had their ears chewed by Meadows.

He wasn’t in the best frame of mind.

‘Maybe this is a good time to knock it on the head for today, fresh start tomorrow, said Neville, attempting to sound optimistic. ‘Just before you all leave, a quick reminder, Matt is attending Richard Johnson’s exhumation on Wednesday.

‘I will attend Pauline’s appearance in court is this week; as you know, she is charged with kidnap and assisting in a murder. However, her solicitor Trevor Wilson is a smart cookie, so anything could happen there. Goodnight’
