“Mmm!” Jonah stretched, turning over to snuggle up against his husband, but Cole wasn’t in the bed. Jonah squinted at the clock. Eight AM. He hadn’t slept that late in ages.

Judging by the strength of his scent, Cole was still nearby. After glancing around the room, Jonah saw him by the window, looking out at the foggy morning.

“You okay?” Jonah asked, sitting up.

“Sure.” Cole turned and smiled but Jonah could tell he was forcing himself to look cheerful.

He stepped from the bed and pulled the comforter with him, wrapping it around his body.

“Cold?” Cole asked.

Jonah nodded.

“I can fix that.”
