“So tell me a little about yourself Treasure. Where did you grow up? How was your upbringing? How many brothers and sisters do you have? I’m all yours for the next hour or so. I wanna get to know you better.”

She sipped her wine and looked at me suspiciously. Probably trying to understand my actions. One day I’m kicking her door down and the next I’m taking her out to dinner on the boardwalk. I knew it had to be confusing to her because it was confusing to me too, but the more I thought about it, the more I realized I couldn’t kill her. I wanted to keep her around for more reasons than one, but I would never admit it. I was almost positive that she wasn’t the snitching type, but women are cunning and sneaky when they wanted to be. The argument I had with Yola was the true testament. Honestly, her snitching on me was the least of my worries. At first I was a little paranoid, but now it was water under the bridge. How could she snitch on me without implicating herself? I was really about to kill that bitch Yola, but I caught myself. Why get my hands dirty when I didn’t have to? One phone call and her entire bloodline would be extinct. It was that fucking simple. I watched her intently as she sat her wine glass down and eagerly waited for an answer.

“Well, I’m originally from Newark, but when I was ten or eleven my parents bought a house up in Warren. It’s up in the mountains. It was pretty cool. I had a good upbringing. My parents have been married for over twenty years and are still going strong. I can’t really complain. I didn’t want for anything when I was growing up. I don’t have any sob stories to tell you. My mother wasn’t on drugs and my father didn’t abuse us. I grew up in a house full of love. I’m an only child, but I always begged my mother for a little sister or brother. She said I was enough,” she laughed showing off her pearly whites. “I stayed in some shit boy. I put my parents through a lot growing up, but all in all I had a great childhood. I graduated from high school with a 4.0 even though I hated school. I’m currently enrolled in Drake for the Medical Assistant program. I’m not sure what I wanna do yet, but it’s a start. Umm, I’m single. I don’t have any kids and my favorite color is pink!”

I laughed because I could tell she was a little tipsy and loosening up. “Okay, miss 4.0, tell me why you weren’t tryna give me no play when we first met? All I wanted to do was what we are doing right now and you gave me your ass to kiss like I was one of these niggas in here sweating you.”

She looked around and caught a nigga staring her dead in the face and blushed.
