“Sunday…please don’t leave—" I woke up in the middle of a dream, Sunday was walking away from me one minute and water was being splashed on me the next.

“WHAT THE FUCK!” I screamed jumping off the wet couch.

“Yo ass in here moaning some other bitch name like I’m not in the other room or something.” Cynthia snapped.

I wiped my face with my hands before I walked to the linen closet to grab a towel to dry the water off my face and chest.

“Oh, yo ass ain’t got shit to say now?” she snapped following behind me.

“I’m trying to think of something to say that doesn’t involve a threat to your life.”

“No, fuck that. You came back from Atlanta wanting to be a family. You came back talking about loving and respecting me, respecting our relationship and—"

“I KNOW WHAT THE FUCK I SAID!” I screamed interrupting her rant.

She looked at me with bug eyes surprised at my outburst, but what did she expect? She was pushing me past my breaking point.

“So, what now? You just going to live with us and still be out doing your own thing is that it?” she asked crossing her arms over her breasts.

I couldn’t help but outline her body as she filled out the boy shorts, she was wearing. The skimpy tank top did nothing to cover her dark brown areoles and her chocolate kissed nipples. The scent of wild fruits and berries wafted over to me causing my dick to tingle as I looked over her curvy body.

“Nah, nigga ain’t nobody fucking tonight. Yo ass started off sleeping on the couch, keep that shit up.” She said and then walked out of the hallway and up the stairs like she didn’t just pour cold water all over the couch. I exhaled and grabbed more blankets so I could move to the other side of the L-shaped sectional.

After Sunday found out the truth about me and Deshaun she shut me out. She told security at her job not to let me in and she even changed her phone number. I almost pulled up at her house and knocked on the door a few times, but Deshaun always talked me out of it. I had been back home for a little over two weeks and I have yet to go see my mother. Deshaun said she was content with the lie he told her; the woman Jayveon was cheating with was dead.

I got comfortable on the couch, and I watched the videos of Sunday that I still had on my phone. I loved her smile and her laugh when she didn’t know anyone was watching or listening to her. I made sure my volume was on low as I watched the videos I had of her singing and joking with me. I missed the way she tip-toed across the tile floor after a shower and the way she would tap with the rhythm of my heart beat until we both fell asleep. I longed for those nights back, but until she forgave me, this was all I had of her.
