Blair would have tumbled right out the elevator doors if Lucas hadn’t hauled her around and set her on her feet beside him. Her head was swimming from that kiss, her eyes unable to focus on anything but him. She was so worked up she could be falling out of her dress and she wouldn’t even know it.

Vaguely, she felt along the front of the pink fabric and found the cutout between her breasts was still keeping her covered. The gesture drew Lucas’s gaze there, and the possessive growl he made thrilled her to her toes. She’d never been an exhibitionist, but if preening a little in front of this man incited that kind of reaction, she wasn’t averse.

The elevator doors began to close again, startling her from passion-fogged thoughts. Lucas guided her into the hall and withdrew a room key from his pocket just as they reached the door of their ocean-side rooms.

Her whole body hummed from touching him. And from the knowledge that soon, she would be touching a whole lot more of him.

Finally inside the living area, Lucas let the door shut behind them, then stalked deeper into the room. Blair dropped her purse onto a nearby end table before she followed him, the view of the Atlantic spread out in front of them in a wall of windows as he turned to face her.

She told herself not to jump him. She’d made the first move in the elevator, crushing the lapels of his suit jacket in her rush to get her hands on him. Plus, there’d been that time on the rooftop when she’d demanded he touch her.

Yet now that she’d made up her mind to be with him, she didn’t want to waste a second of this time.

“Care to share what you’re thinking right now?” he asked as he shrugged off the jacket and laid it over a high-back leather chair around a tree slab table.

“I’m wondering if you can help me set a land speed record for undressing.”

He raised an eyebrow before making slow, deliberate work of loosening his tie. She liked watching him as—prompted by her words—he went to work on his shirt buttons with methodical precision.

She also liked the V of his chest as more of his body became visible. He was beyond gorgeous, with hard, steely pecs and ridges between delineated abs. Her breath went shallow, her heartbeat racing.

“I could be inside you faster if we didn’t undress,” he countered, stalking closer as he wrenched off the shirt and let it fall to the table.

“Oh.” She gulped air, her eyes snagging on the dark trail of hair that disappeared into his pants. “That is, yes.”

His throat worked as he swallowed hard, tawny eyes flashing with heat. And then, he was on her, his hands cupping her ass through her dress and hoisting her up his body. Another moment and he backed her against the door they’d just entered, putting them in the same position they’d been in the elevator.

Only now, they didn’t need to stop.
