Chapter 23

Apologetic

I silently watched Erika break that man, bone-by-bone, for hours without remorse, and it was bloody hot. I did cringe and felt my balls try to climb up my scrotum when Erika swung the hammer at the guy’s dick, not because he didn’t deserve it, but because I could only imagine out of all the hits she took, that must have been the most painful one. My girl was savage; there was no doubt about that.

I wasn’t sure how she managed, but she barely got any blood on herself throughout the process. A few splatters on her cheeks and arms, but that was about it. I guess her choice of tool had its perks; it inflicted high pain with little mess.

Hearing bits and pieces of what he had done to deserve her wrath made my blood boil. Several times, I had to remind myself this was her kill, not mine.

It was hard enough at the sorting house not to kill him when I got my hands on him, and back then, I didn’t even know what he had done, only that he had upset her. Now that I knew, I regretted not fucking him up more before bringing him here.

The raid at the sorting house went smoothly. We were in and out within a half hour and encountered no problems. We killed Petrov’s men except for the one I brought back for Erika and transported the nineteen girls we found inside to one of my clubs, where Carla had been waiting for them.

We also managed to get some pretty important information from one of the guys before we killed him. He thought ratting out his boss would save his ass, but he was wrong. We listened to what he had to say, then I shot the prick between the eyes. The information provided was somewhat worrisome. He said Petrov lost his shit after we raided his warehouse, and even though we left nothing behind to suggest it was us, he still suspected it. The guy said Petrov was meeting with the head of the cartel in a few days to discuss a possible allegiance and retaliation for what happened. If that happened, we could have some serious problems on our hands. I needed to investigate the validity of the information and hopefully prevent it from happening.

When I got back to the house, Erika was still hostile with me, but I didn’t hold it against her. I knew seeing that guy earlier had fucked her up. It didn’t help that I prevented her from exacting revenge on him at the time, and by doing so, she saw me as the bad guy. I understood where she was coming from since I would have felt the same way if someone had tried to stop me from getting revenge for my mother and sister’s death. It just went to show how much she and I were alike.

Erika didn’t trust me yet, and that was understandable. But soon, she would realize I meant it when I said I would take care of her and that she could rely on me for anything.
