ELIZABETH: Let’s go into your father’s study.

(They cross the hallway)

ELIZABETH: Looks like you had a lucky escape.

THOMAS: It’s too early to say. The murderer is still at large, apparently.

ELIZABETH: I meant from the storm.

THOMAS: Yes, it turned up out of nowhere, really.

ELIZABETH: So now do you believe your father was killed?

THOMAS: Please – you take the comfortable seat here, the green one.

ELIZABETH: I’m quite fine here on the sofa. Answer my question.

THOMAS: Do I think Father was murdered? I mean, I think it’s more likely Granny was murdered, and Father’s death was just a distraction. Either he cottoned on to the plan, or who knows, maybe he really had a heart attack? I don’t believe anyone had a decent reason to kill that half-wit. Granny, on the other hand, now there’s someone quite evil.
