The sand is warm under my feet as I step out onto the beach and breathe the air deeply, smelling the salt and warm, gentle breeze around us. I hold my arms stretched out wide, sighing contentedly. This is where I’m meant to be.

“Crescent City is alright,” I say as Tristan strides up behind me, his shirt off, the thin fabric dangling in his hand, “but the beach is worth this whole trip.”

“It’s something else,” he agrees, grinning at the sapphire waters, tall waves arcing and crashing in a tune that could put me to sleep. Tristan is attracting a lot of attention on the sparse beach. There are women I’d consider 10s letting their eyes roam over to him, but Tristan’s eyes have been devouring me and me alone this whole time.

Suddenly, my eyes light up as I have an idea. “Tristan! Let’s go rent surfboards! I want to teach you how to surf!”

He laughs, rubbing the back of his neck and glancing at a shack for just such a purpose down the beach. “Well, we don’t exactly have surfable water back home, but I could give it a shot.”

A few minutes later, we’re paddling desperately against the tide and failing miserably at anything approaching surfing. Turns out, Tristan’s never been near a beach like this, and I’m an awful teacher. That, and we’re a little distracted with each other.

It doesn’t take long for our floundering on the waves to turn into playful splashing in our underwear, since we don’t have bathing suits. As the sun starts to go down, we make our way to the beach, laughing at each other as we’re soaked to the bone in warm, salty water.

Tristan plants our surfboards into the ground, letting them cast shadows over us before he seizes me behind one, looking me up and down, eyes lingering on my wet hair that spills over my shoulder, droplets of water on my breasts as we’re fresh from the ocean. I bite my lip through the smile as I revel in his gaze and enjoy my own view.

Tristan looks like a bronze god in the setting sunlight. His mop of blonde hair is dripping wet, and it hangs around his eyes gorgeously. There’s a little stubble on his face, and the wetness only accentuates his rugged, untamed look.

“So what is this,” he says in a low voice as his hands go to my ass, squeezing it, uncaring of the smattering of people left on the beach, “Day two? Three? Thoughts so far?”

I can’t answer him. My body makes me reach up on my tiptoes and meet him in a kiss. I’m foolish enough to try to make it just a sweet, simple kiss, but there’s nothing simple about Tristan.
