While they were busy trying to dispose of the body Shawn looked out and saw Jane’s car.

“That bitch,” he said.

The only other people there besides him were Jason Walters and Dr. Jameson, and he knew she wasn’t seeing Jason Walters. She was sneaking around somewhere with Michael Jameson.

Just the thought upset him so badly that he went outside to smoke. He’d just lit up a bit of his stash when he saw what looked like two people dragging a body across the parking lot.

“Man, I must be trippin’ balls,” he said to himself before taking another hit.

He didn’t even bother putting on his glasses to check what he saw. Shawn was certain it was a combination of nerves and anger. He completely overlooked the fact that marijuana was involved. Nicole, his ex-girlfriend wouldn’t stop calling, his wife was getting suspicious from all the “wrong numbers” at home, and now Jane was seeing Michael. That bothered him almost more than being stalked.

He had just gone back inside when a tall, dark figure appeared at the door. Shawn was a complete coward but was loathe for another man to see it. He approached the door cautiously. The man was wearing black leather pants and a t-shirt. His long coat was blowing in the wind, and so was his hair. Whoever he was, he was a badass if Shawn had ever seen one, and he didn’t want to open the door.

He walked through one set of glass doors and paused, staring at the stranger through two inches of glass.

“I’m sorry, but we’re closed for the night,” he said.

“I’m not looking to go to college,” Luis said and attempted to smile. “I’m looking for Jane Masters, have you seen her?”

“Who?” Shawn asked, faking innocence.

“Jane Masters.”

He pretended to think it over. “I don’t think I know her.”

“Cut the crap,” Luis said, leaning against the glass. “You’re Shawn aren’t you?”

“I’m Shane I don’t know any Shawn,” he answered nervously.

“Bullshit. I know who you are and if you’re lying to me, I’ll kill you. Now have you or have you not seen Jane Masters this evening?”

“N-no,” Shawn stuttered.

Luis could smell his fear even through the glass. He extended his fangs and Shawn had never been so scared in his whole life. The man looking for Jane was a vampire!

“If you come near her again, I’ll kill you. And I’ll take my time,” Luis promised.

Luis hated cowards almost as much as he hated liars, and Shawn visibly jumped when he snapped at him before turning to leave.
