CHAPTER 35

Belle had driven to Abbey’s apartment. After sitting outside for twenty minutes she finally got out of her car and walked towards the entrance.

Unbeknown to Tony, she had hired a PI to follow him and find out where Abbey lived after the beating he’d given her. She had never intended to go there but simply to use her as a weapon against Tony should the need arise. Now things were different. He had blackmailed her into staying with him using Antonia as a pawn which had hurt her deeply. Worse still she was now carrying his child so she needed to know exactly what the score was with Abbey before she went through with the pregnancy should the hospital tests prove ok.

Standing outside looking at the intercom her stomach churned as she pressed Abbey’s number. Several seconds passed before Abbey answered, “Hello.” Belle nervously replied, “Special delivery, I need you to sign.” “Ok come up.” The buzzer sounded on the door. Belle pushed it open and made her way through the entrance hall to the lift. Getting in she travelled up to Abbey’s floor. As the lift doors opened she saw Abbey standing at her door. The look on Abbey’s face told her that she had a feeling Belle was not a delivery lady especially as she wasn’t carrying anything.

Walking to the door Belle smiled and said, “You must be Abbey. I’m Tony’s wife Isabella.” Looking embarrassed Abbey said, “I thought you might be. Has something happened to Tony?” “No he doesn’t know I’m here.” “Would you like to come in?” “Yes please.” Belle followed her through to the lounge.

“Can I get you a drink Mrs Ramon?” “Could I have a glass of water please?” “I’ll just get it.”

While Belle waited for Abbey to return she looked around the room and instantly noticed a photo of Abbey and Tony. In the photo she was standing behind him with her arms draped around his neck, Tony was laughing. They both looked really happy. There was another one of just Tony in his boxer shorts with his arms raised above his shoulders in a body builder type pose to show off his physique.

Abbey returned with the water. “Thank you,” said Belle as she took it from her. Abbey sat opposite her and just stared. Belle broke the ice by saying, “I can see why Tony picked you, you’re very pretty Abbey, just his type.” Looking nervous Abbey replied, “Mrs Ramon please I want you to know that Tony.” Belle interrupted and said, “Whatever you were going to say Abbey don’t bother, I’ve heard it all before. I’m not interested in you or what my husband does with you, believe me you’re not the first and you certainly won’t be the last. So I expect you’re wondering why I’m here?” Abbey nodded. Belle continued, “Do you like children Abbey?” “Yes.” “Are you hoping to have some of your own one day?” “Yes I think so but not with Tony. He’s made it quite clear from the start that no one will ever come before you and his family.
