Isat down on a chair close to the living room door and gestured for Rebecca to join me. Rebecca nodded and gently led Faye toward some of the PCs.

“Keep an eye on her while we watch the video, okay?” Rebecca said with authority.

The PCs nodded.

“Yes, ma’am!” said the ginger haired PC I’d seen earlier.

As I waited for a couple of PCs to stand protectively near Faye, Sam’s words kept repeating themselves around my mind.

It will prove to you that Faye is guilty.

Sam was determined that the video would show us that Faye had been the one to hurt Holly, and I feared what the video was going to show me. I trusted Faye more than anything, but this evening, I’d seen her lie to me, I’d found out she was the last person to see Holly, and she'd even admitted the video was going to make her look bad.

It really wasn’t looking good for her.

I turned at the sound of footsteps and saw Rebecca was walking over to join me on the chair.

“How’s Faye?” I asked emotionally, but I kept my voice quiet so others couldn’t hear me.

Rebecca bit her lip and made her voice go as quiet as it could. “Anxious. Worried. I get the feeling she really doesn’t want us to watch this video.”

I knew I’d taken Becky’s phone from her, but did she potentially have anything else on her? I’d noticed before that she had a backpack, and I hadn’t even thought to check it.

That’s what happens when you work a case you’re too personally involved in, I thought to myself in annoyance.

“This is going to be much easier once we have taken everyone’s devices,” I said hopefully. “We will get the PCs to go through them and see if it can reveal who the mysterious poster is.”

“Yeah,” Rebecca said with uncertainty. “If they are even still here. They could have left ages ago.”

I shook that negative thought away and made sure Sam’s phone was still unlocked.

“Come on,” I said hesitantly. “Let’s watch this video, and then I can quickly go through his phone before we take Faye away for questioning.”

Rebecca nodded and finally sat down beside me. I looked up and saw Sam looking at me impatiently while Faye looked nervous. I was just glad the PCs were there to keep Sam away from her.

I looked at Sam’s phone and pressed play on the story. My heart started to beat rapidly when I saw the camera was pointed in the main hallway.

This was where Faye had last seen Holly. I’d already known the video was about
