Dearest Patricia,

I know I’m the last person you’ll want to hear from, but you, more than anyone else, deserve my deepest sincerest apologies. I’m sorry for everything I put you through... the accusations, the trials, all of it. You’re a good woman and were a fantastic wife who didn’t deserve the hurt and pain I put you through. I don’t blame you for not visiting me in prison—or for giving up on me—as I’d done nothing to deserve your trust and support. I’ve been unwell with cancer and have decided to take my own life instead of suffering with it. My only hope is that through my suicide, the police will take my claims of innocence seriously and will reopen the case. I know you don’t believe I was innocent of the murder of Hayden Fox, but I never killed that boy and desire nothing more than for his true killer to be unveiled. I know I will never know if the truth will come out, but I leave this world happily and hopeful that it will. I still love you, Patricia, and I hope you’ve been able to get on with your life and find some happiness without me.
