The instant the flight touched down, I did the same thing everyone else did—phone out, airplane mode off.

I wasn’t checking e-mail or social media, though. I went straight to my text messages and typed one out to Theo:

Can we talk?

I pressed send without a second thought. Now I could freak out—and I would—but at least the message was sent and couldn’t be pulled back.

After a short visit with Nate, and spending the whole flight thinking about this mess we were all in, I’d decided Nate was right. I needed to see Theo. We’d spent enough time apart. The last time we’d seen each other hadn’t been bad, but it wasn’t productive either. The sex had been an easy diversion, and since then…nothing. We needed to see each other and talk, and hell, maybe we’d wind up in bed together. I wondered if it was possible to rekindle our marriage one desperate fuck at a time.

So if he was willing, we’d talk. Maybe sleep together. Maybe get somewhere.

All I knew was that I needed to see him.

I needed to talk to him.

And more than anything…

I missed him.
