out west—cali (esp. sf) is getting too expensive! same with nyc, tho it’s a great city!

I’m a student. And I am a little bit familiar with NY already. Never been to NYC, tho. Good public transportation, from what I see on TV. Is it good for walking?

rgw57 I lived in NYC fifteen years and walked

all the time. Subway is convenient, though, and cabs are easy to get. Plus, food and arts in NYC are tops.

My Move To New York

Phase 1: The Prep

Order plane ticket—one way

Make hotel reservations

Arrange “ground transportation” from airport to hotel

Pack light and SENSIBLY—lots of layers; coat/jacket; good walking shoes.

Leave a note in case someone notices my absence—long shot, but still. I’m at Madison’s for the weekend.

Find online map of NYC/print it out

Check cash supply. Necessary to “borrow” some from Dad’s top drawer?
