Chapter 4

Another few years has gone past and our daughter is the highlight of our new lives. We decided to name her Kyra Elizabeth Kane. The whole birthing thing, well that wasn’t my thing and thankfully that got over with without a hiccup. I guess the whole natural birth thing most people believe it’s a miracle to be part of but I just didn’t get that from it. To me personally the miracle was holding my daughter for the first time. She just made everything worthwhile and is the center of our attention now. Sure everyone came to see her well all but Tommy the excuse my Mother gave was he had to work that Saturday. To me that was just an excuse and if it were true it would be just extra beer money.

That was a couple of years ago now and moving on, now Kyra is walking starting to talk. She just turned two a week ago and yet it’s the second birthday my Mother and Tommy was a no-show. The rest of the family showed even Uncle Stan. We found an apartment that is a two bedroom just down the road and we are packing up to move. When Bobbie told her father about the move he volunteered to help with it. He been such a great person to us we would be lost without her family. It’s been hit and miss with mine. Sure Uncle Stan been part of our lives but he isn’t my father and we are closer to Aunt Annette than my Mother. We try not to dwell on those details just because it isn’t worth it but overall she puts a guilt complex on us everything she sees us as if we are supposed to read her mind to make her happy. I know nothing would make her happy and she would find fault with Bobbie no matter what.

We are packing away and getting everything ready to be taken out of the apartment when Bobbie’s parents showed up. Her father brought a rental truck to do the move and her mother is planning on taking Kyra for a few hours so we wouldn’t have to watch her while we did the actual work. I thought her parents thought it out pretty well and is doing us a giant favor. We are both thankful for what they do for us. Sure they are not perfect by any means and they have a habit of driving Bobbie nuts at times with silly stuff but it’s her family and I just let her deal with it. Sure they bicker but all families do and not to be mean but I always saw the humor in it. Needless to say we are both happy they showed and had plans because we didn’t really have much thought in it.

Her mother took the baby and we are already starting to load the truck when my Mother showed up with Tommy. When she got out of the truck I could see it wasn’t going to be pleasant but normally it isn’t anyway.
