“ Good evening sir, sorry for keeping you waiting,” it was Dev Raj. Being closer to the device, his voice echoed loud and clear.

“First things first, nothing can be leaked to media. Nothing. Your officers trustable? Give them strict orders to keep their mouths shut. All doors and windows lead to me, and me only, is that clear?” It was Swamy’s voice, slightly fainter as he probably sat across the table.

“Sure, sir, don’t worry at all. Here are the files.”

“And stay away from Vikramaditya. I will handle him.”

“ Sure, sir.”

“Wait for my instructions to proceed.”

“Sir, I am planning to raid some confirmed sleeper cells tomorrow morning.”

“Didn’t you hear, what I just said officer. No movement from us. We watch. They will make the first move.”

“But sir do we have enough time to wait and watch? We have no inside info. If we strike first, they might be forced to change their plans and make mistakes.”

“You fool, they are working on a deadline. Multiple groups, with multiple different project plans are on it. They all are given their individual time of blast. All teams prepare to carry that out. If the first team fails, the second team gets into action, if they fail, then the third one and so on. No team knows where the others are. There is no way you can obstruct their freeway. It’s like Chinese army, they bloody keep coming at you walking over their own dead soldiers.”

“Sir, of course your knowledge on this is much deeper than mine but where do they get orders from? Somebody must press the button, no”

“The lever has been pulled officer, or going to be pulled within the next few hours.”

“So, we can stop them if we can locate the final "go"?”

“That’s hypothetical and impossible. Never have been done in the history of terrorist attacks. You just follow my orders and wait. Now go.”

"Sure, sir, thanks sir."

Vik glanced at the screen and he could see a red dot moving through the building towards an exit.

As he was watching it, his mobile rang. It was an independent number, he picked up. It was Secretary Swamy’s voice.

“I hope you are not dozing off officer? " said Swamy.

“Good evening sir, yes, wide awake sir.”

“Let’s cut to the chase officer, I want you to play a major role in this Operation Red.”

“But sir you straightaway dismissed my request earlier.”

“Situation demands one of our own men to be in the deep shit. You volunteered, so I had a rethink to give you a chance to glory.”

“It’s your call sir, your command, I am at your disposal.”

“Now listen, your task is to keep an eye on ACP Dev Raj. I don’t trust these civilians.”

"Neither do I, sir, but you made him the team leader yourself," Vik beamed a full wide grin.

"That was to get him to co-operate, but he is clearly not. So, tag him, track him, use whatever of your RAW tricks, I need eyes and ears on him."

"I’m on it, sir."

"I can feel the joy in your voice, know your history with the guy, this is your chance to go one up officer.
