Many times over the years, I have heard people lament, “If it tastes good, it’s bad for you!” I’ve already discussed the hidden significance of how we register taste. Now, let’s attack this regret head-on by noting, quite bluntly: It doesn’t have to be that way!
Diets have long given weight control a deservedly bad reputation, since most of them are based on what you have to give up. Until the low-carb diets came along, diet food was often dismissively equated with rabbit (or some alternative rodent) food. True, the low-carb diets fixed this (I’ve never seen a rabbit eat bacon!). They did so, however, with diets that are, in my view, at odds with good health and unrealistically restrictive over the long term.
Well, folks, welcome to a new place. When I tell you that the Flavor Point Diet is based on the power of taste, I truly mean tasty taste! This food is, in a word, delicious.
The Flavor Point Diet recipes will show you that the joy of eating and the joy of weight loss can indeed come together at the same dinner table. I know, because it’s my dinner table, too!
When Catherine and I married, the process of marrying my devotion to nutrition and her skill in the kitchen also began. In these recipes, you’ll find the culinary offspring of this union. Like any relationship, this one took work. It took years of figuring out how to combine the very best of taste with the very best of nutrition. We did the trial and put up with some inevitable error, so now you don’t have to. I really like good food and can personally vouch for every recipe in the Flavor Point Diet. I expect these flavorful yet simple recipes to become a hit with everyone in your family, just as they have in ours.
I love Catherine’s Banana Soft Wheat Muffins, and so do our kids, who often bake them by themselves.
I would happily eat Black Bean, Corn, and Tomato Salad every day, except for the days when I might rather have Curry, Lentil, and Spinach Salad with Gorgonzola and Walnuts. All I can say about Almond-Crusted Tilapia is “Yum!” and in our household of seven, it’s pretty much a rumble to see who can get to the Honey Curry–Glazed Chicken first. I could go on, but I trust you get the idea. This food is good!
The recipes are also convenient. For us to use them in our crazy schedules, they really have to be. Many take 15 minutes or less to prepare. Most use convenient ingredients, such as prechopped vegetables, to get you and your family to the dinner table with minimal time and effort. They all use the best, most healthful ingredients the food supply has to offer. From the types of fish to the types of vegetables used in each recipe, you will be consuming the most nutritious foods you can get.
