“I am going to take another trip soon, James,” Ian announced the next morning, sitting in the office. “A friend of mine needs my help, apparently.”

“Another weekend away, do you think?” James asked.

“No, it shouldn’t take that long; she just needs a little moral support,” Ian replied. “Remember that I told you about my friends? Well, she is the last one alive, she told me that Sean has been killed now.”

“The chap that came to see you recently?” James asked.

“Yes, that’s him, sounds awful,” Ian said. “She’s got no family nearby either.”

“Oh, I see, she must be very scared and unsure about things,” James said. “I think you should go and see her as soon as you can; we’ll keep things going here, I’ve got Logan and Madison to keep me company.”

“I’ll give her a call and tell her I’ll be there tomorrow then, thanks,” Ian said.

“I hope you can help her, Ian, you’ve had a lot of bad news to cope with lately. I hope, too, that she can help you feel a bit better about everything – you’re both in the same boat, after all,” James offered.

Ian simply nodded his acceptance of his uncle’s words and said, “I’m going to call her now, I’ll see you soon,” as he left the office and headed for home.

By the evening, Ian had filled his car’s fuel tank and checked the tyres and fluid levels, ready for his trip to Grantham, and decided that an early night was in order. “I want to be as fresh and as wide awake as I can tomorrow,” he said to himself, “I’ve not seen her in years, it should be an interesting encounter.”
