Chapter 2

USED AT LAST

That night, Roger picked me up for dinner. He took me to get Chinese food, at my request, and we sat and talked. Roger was his usual reserved self. And I struggled to stay focused. I kept finding myself looking at his rugged, angled face. He was a striking man. He wasn't anything like the others at our church, and his attitude made him stand apart. The fact was that Roger had an indescribable sexiness. A lot of it came from his confidence and style.

"Well, Darlene, are you up for an Italian movie tonight? There's a showing of --"

"Can we just go back to your house?" I blurted it out.

My husband's cousin arched an eyebrow.

"Are you not feeling well? I could text Bobbie and see if she and Gary have finished their date."

I shook my head. "It's not that at all." After my initial boldness, I felt the need to back off. "It's just that we have these get-togethers and I don't feel like we know each other at all."

I had been so nervous around him earlier, and now, it wasn't nerves, it was my body, my pussy. I was so wet, and so turned on. I could not concentrate. All I could think about was the possibility of going to bed with the man in front of me.

Roger shrugged. "Sure, I'll make us tea and we could," he paused, "chat."

On the way to his home, I was searching for the right words. The ones that would get me into his bed. Then there was Bobbie. He loved his wife as much as I loved my husband. But it was not possible that they were having the same problems as Gary and me. And, of course, there was the minor issue of adultery. But I would deal with that later, maybe twenty or thirty years later. All I could think about was kissing him and having him touch me.

It was a twenty-minute drive from the restaurant to Roger's house. For the first 420 seconds of that trip, I searched for the words I needed to use. So, it was a pretty awkward seven minutes. And thank gawd, Roger said something. But what he said was a pleasant surprise.

"Darlene, you are an attractive woman," he started. I held my breath waiting on his words. "And I've always had my eye on you."

"Me? Why me?"

"Because you have a sensuality about you. You give off this energy that I've seen many times."

"What do you mean?" My chest was pounding.

He took his eyes off the road to look at me. "I need to know that what I tell you goes no further than the inside of this car."

I nodded and held my breath.

"We're family." He looked at me for confirmation, and I nodded. "But even family members don't know everything about each other. Sure, we can guess. But we never know, not for certain. Like you and my cousin."

"What do you mean?" I asked, a little afraid of what he might say.
