Iâve been taken into a school classroom with all of my friends. The only people I donât know in here is the pink-haired woman and a man with long black hair whoâs facing the front wall. On that wall is a projection of the cosmos that he seems to be pouring over with his eyes. And when the man turns around I gasp in surprise.
âCoconut?â It looks like him, although a bit older.
Someone giggles and I turn around. As though time is on hold, I slowly try to get my frazzled confused brain to understand whatâs happening. I remember running away from Antelope Island in America, but this place doesnât resemble that earthly country at all.
Right now Tanessa is all the way in the corner of the room. Sheâs chewing her fingernails as though nervous. She eyeballs me for a split second, but then looks away. She looks the same as me wearing a school uniform with blazer and skirt, so I donât need a full length mirror any time soon.
âWhatâs going on?â Fists on hips, I glare at everyone in turn. Which is a lot of people, considering the fact that everyone I know on Earth is literally right here. Right now.
Thereâs Glowan and Glotoo, the twins from planet Utopni, where twins are always born. Glowanâs hair is long and blonde, but itâs not in the shape of a permed mullet. Glotooâs mullet is totally gone. Completely shaved off. Theyâre both wearing school uniforms and sitting behind one of the many double desks in this room.
I stare at them both. Glowan looks guilty in the way her lips fold inwards and off to the side. Glotoo shrugs and mouths the word, âsorry.â
Next I stare at Banny. He just runs a hand through his thick black hair thatâs cut to his shoulders. He bows and apologises too.
Zrent and Thyst are both wearing these professional school uniforms too. Itâs weird to see everyone wearing the same thing. I know our facades keep us looking like young Earth teenagers, but is Thyst allowed to have her eyes lined with black makeup so stark like that?
Not that her makeup look is important right now. Or is it?
Sheâs managed to retain some of her true identity, seeing as how her and Zrent come from the very corrupt and rough city planet of Gwoi. But does she fit in here on Earth? At this school for teenagers? Arenât there rules?
Well I donât know. And Iâm not going to get any answers out of them because theyâre both fiddling with guns on the table theyâre sat at. I supposed I shouldnât worry about how this school accepts Thyst as a student with long blonde dreadlocks and majorly smoky black eyeliner. Not when theyâve obviously managed to smuggle laser guns into the building!
Zrentâs blonde hair is shaved off like Glotooâs. Although his skin is dark and it suits his look much better.
âJendy, please.â
I hold up a hand when the pink-haired woman talks to me. I donât know who she is and Iâm in no mood to get answers from a stranger.
