Chapter 16

The Killa clan maintained the Long Island home. They would never live there again but it would always be home. Since Atlanta was now their home base, they moved their arsenal from the basement to a stash house in the suburbs. All they needed now were some pigs.

“Sorry, you can’t come with,” Killa said when they planned their next trip. A Black Mob faction had popped up in Philly and was about to get knocked off.

“No prob,” Shyne said so easily everyone frowned up in curiously. Even she realized she gave up too quickly but still asked, “What?”

“What are you up to?” Killa asked, squinting at his daughter so he could see through her bullshit.

“Mio?” Shyne asked, batting her lashes coyly. “I’m not up to anything. In fact, I resent that remark!”

“You resemble that remark,” Sun chuckled as he selected weapons for their trip. Overkill is better than under kill so he picked out the heavy artillery.

“Where’s Rico?” Shyne asked because she wanted to know as well as switch the attention from herself. She was quite fond of her new big brother and tried her best to make up for the time they’d lost beefing.

“Up top. He gone meet us in Germantown,” Sun replied to her but filled in their father at the same time.

“I still can’t believe those goons had the audacity to set up shop in Germantown with all those Muslims,” Killa said, shaking his head in disbelief.

Law enforcement watched the Muslims so hard that it allowed criminals to flourish. They openly sold drugs on the same streets kids once played. Those same streets became hoe strolls once the sun set. This normally would have gotten a heavy handed response from the Muslims but police and feds watched their every move. No worry because along came a killa and his sons.

“Well, be safe. Have fun killing bad guys!” Shyne cheered and waved, getting more suspicious looks form her dad and brother. “Okay, bye-bye.”

“Somebody’s in trouble,” Sun said once they were seated in the car.

“Definitely. Someone is about to get fucked up,” Killa co-signed. They were right, too, because Shyne shopped for a weapon the second they left.

“Okay, let’s see…” Shyne sang as she perused the weapons as if she were in the produce section. The clouds opened up, allowing the sun’s rays to beam brightly when she saw it. “This…is it! It’s getting hot in here…”

Killa and sons landed in Philadelphia and took a cab to Germantown. Rico and Sun hopped out, leaving their dad to pay the fare. Proof that no matter how old they get, children expect their parents to pick up the tab. He did before leading the way inside the Masjid.

“As salaamu alaykum! What’s good, homie?” Imam Mezan greeted with a wide smile, pound and man hug.

“Wa alaykum as salaam,” Killa said as they embraced. It was crystal clear that the two men had genuine love for one another. His sons could tell that they were close but what couldn’t be seen was that Mezan was once a thug himself.
