Chapter 19

They needed to clean up and get ready for dinner, but Ash couldn’t let go of Blake. All he wanted was to sit there and hold the man in his arms. If it weren’t for the fact it was a family dinner to celebrate his grandmother’s birthday, Ash would have lain down and kept Blake in his bed all night.

Ash had originally thought getting Blake naked and in the shower with him might lead to something more than just the kissing that they’d done. As soon as he’d mentioned it, though, something in Blake changed. The lust and desire suddenly present in the way Blake touched him and kissed him had sent Ash’s craving from him escalating out of control. He hadn’t ever wanted anyone as much as he’d wanted Blake in that moment.

He recalled the flicker of hopelessness in Blake’s eyes at his momentary hesitation when Blake said he only topped. A wave of uneasiness had swept through Ash. He’d only bottomed once for a guy, and it had been such a painful, horrible experience that he didn’t think he’d ever do it again. But that look from Blake, like his whole world was about to fall apart, had Ash willing to try again. Something special was growing between them. He didn’t know how long it would last, but he wasn’t willing to throw it away just yet; especially after Blake had just agreed to be his boyfriend.

Thank God he did, because being fucked by Blake, though a little painful at first, really had been mind-blowing. So much so that he couldn’t wait to do it again.

Ash glanced at the clock and sighed. He gave Blake a tight squeeze and kissed his hair behind his ear. “We need to get ready for dinner.”

“Oh yeah. What time do we need to be there?”

“About six. It’s five now.”

“Okay. Um…” Blake pulled out of Ash’s grip and reached down to the floor for his jeans. “I’ll just go clean up then.” He slipped one foot into his jeans, then the other.

“Blake. What are you doing?”

“Throwing on just enough to get back to my room,” he deadpanned as he stood and tugged his jeans up.

Ash jumped to his feet and moved in front of him. “Um. No.”

“No?”

“You, are not going anywhere yet.”

“I’m not?”

“Shower, together. Remember?”

“Oh. Um.” Blake looked past Ash toward the door, running a hand through his hair. He looked flustered, or maybe unsure. “I didn’t think you still wanted to.”

Ash couldn’t stand seeing him looking so lost and uncomfortable. “Of course I do. Why wouldn’t I?”

Blake shrugged and finally met Ash’s gaze. “I just thought… I don’t know.”

Still naked, Ash stepped closer and slid his arms around Blake’s waist. “Listen to me very carefully, Blake. I get that this is hard for you, and I know it’s going to take time for you to completely trust me, but I wouldn’t have asked you to be my boyfriend if I didn’t want to keep you around for a while.” Ash leaned in and pressed a tender kiss to Blake’s lips, lingering a few seconds before pulling away.
