On Wednesday, I got a text from Sofia while I was at work. She was in a dressing room at Macy’s, she explained, and wanted to show me something.

Ok, I wrote, go ahead.

She texted me a photo, holding up a black negligee in front of her naked body.

I can’t try it on, she explained, at least not without underwear.

My heart sank as I realized why she was at the store trying on underwear during a weekday.

It was for Charles. Of course it was.

Her next message confirmed it.

Do you think he’ll like it?

I wanted to tell her to ask him herself, but instead I simply told her that of course he’d like it. And how could he not? How could he not like a woman with Sofia’s figure, with her curves and her breasts, even at the age of 39 ½, even after two kids.

She was hot. What they once would have called a “MILF.” There was no way that Charles wouldn’t be turned on by absolutely anything that she wore. But she was going out of her way to look perfect for him.

Had she ever done something like this for me? For her faithful husband? Provider and protector?

I couldn’t remember anything like this. At least I’d be able to see her in the outfit. At the same time as her lover did.
