Chapter 11 - The Graduate Student

The slim redhead stepped into the room, let her two roller-wheeled travel bags settle down to the plush carpet, smiled at what she saw, and turned to face the young blonde standing just outside the office. “Thank you, Miss Wetmore, this room will do nicely. You’ve been most helpful.”

The young blonde Day Receptionist answered perkily, “No problem, Miss Cross. I’m just sorry that our Hotel Manager couldn’t be here to coordinate your interviews. She’s supportive of your research project and your work has earned high praise from both our State and County Slave Commissioners.” Judy handed Serena a Magnus Hotel business card and added, “If you need anything, I’m working the front desk today and you can use this number to reach me. I’ve also written down your username and login password to access our hotel LAN and the Internet. Be sure to let Ash help you logon.”

The room was a typical single-person office with no real frills beyond the well-made solid wood computer work desk, a bookcase, a padded guest’s chair, and a potted green plant. All the furniture was backed into corners of the room leaving a small open area in the middle of the small office.

“Perfect for good video from two different angles,” Serena whispered with satisfaction. “Plus, the desk has a telephone and a computer. So, … I should be set to start in just a few minutes.”

Over the next few minutes, Serena opened her bags and efficiently unpacked two professional quality video cameras, tripods, cables, and remote controls. After quickly deciding where the best focal point was, the young red-haired woman knelt down and quickly made an ‘X’ with masking tape on the carpet where her interviewees over the next few days would stand. Then, she carefully aimed and focused the two cameras making sure that the open LCD screens faced the desk and chair where she planned to sit during the long interviews. Satisfied with the view, she muttered something about, “nice that the plant fits so well into the scene.”

Lastly, she arrayed a few neatly organized binders, several leather writing pads, and pens on the desk. She was just about to walk around the desk to log onto the hotel LAN when someone knocked at the door.

“Are you Miss Cross?”

Serena evaluated the newcomer and swallowed deeply in envy as she noticed first of all that the platinum blonde woman had a truly impressive set of breasts at least three times the size of her own perky Bs. Then, she took in the shiny slave collar and the parody of a professional outfit she wore; a thin blouse and micro-skirt at least two sizes too small and of course, the tall “fuck me” heels.

“Well, … well, … well,” Serena replied faintly, “I’m still learning what all this American WSA-2000 business means but you look more like a tart trying to get out of the red light district than an office worker or a slave girl.” She shook herself and
