“What is it?” Hailey whispered as she rolled over in the king-sized bed to look at her husband, who was frowning at something on his cell phone in the early morning light of the bedroom.

“The alarm at the house is offline. Damned transformer.” Jake grumbled, staring at the glaring notification as he tapped a series of buttons on his screen.

“Well, at least there’s no one around there to bother anything. Besides, you can’t do much from here.”

“But I can.” Jake insisted, tapping more buttons.

He had explained to Hailey how the system kept acting up when they had tested the standard setting.

Vault-Mode, however, was a completely different story.

When they had tested the advanced security setting, the system never faltered.

Not one time.

Method one was that once it was set, it had to be disabled from the transformer outside.

Option two, in case Vault-Mode went into effect while they were in the house and after the standard setting was tripped, it could be overridden with a two-factor security code from the main control-panel located on the second floor.

A playful scream sounded from somewhere in the large, three bed-room apartment with optimal views facing the Eiffel Tower followed by childish laughter.

“It must be seven in the morning because I hear little voices.” Hailey smiled, planting a long, deep kiss on Jake’s lips before getting out of bed and heading off to the twins’ shared bedroom.

Olivia and Aiden would have it no other way.

“Don’t sit and play with that thing all day!” she called from the hallway as Jake nodded.

“Be right there!” he called back, being sure that the Vault-Mode was active as he finished with the app.

Vault-Mode. Set.

“Good.” he nodded in satisfaction, tossing his phone onto the bed as he followed his wife from the room.

They had plans all day today and Jake didn’t intend on wasting a single moment.
