Things changed after we had sex and I did not think it was solely because of the sex but what I said afterwards. Everyone saw me as the victim of what had happened with Malfinn and I was, but that didn’t make me a victim. I was not traumatized in all things or unable to handle my own life. I also was not twenty anymore which I was when we met and everyone seemed to still think of me.

Except my friends. My friends deferred to me about things because I was the old guy. It was weird how I was the baby with family and the baby brother Markova to most of the hounds but then the tech genius to the humans working security or the old guy to my friends. It always struck me as funny how different people’s perception of things could really be.

But either way, what had now happened seemed to change Malfinn’s perception of me and how to handle things with us and I liked the change. Instead of a man who was so worried about everything he said as if I might curl into a ball and cry, he finally said what he was really feeling or thinking. That had truly been all I wanted. No games.

We ate breakfast downstairs, catching the tail end of it so there weren’t as many people. Then I offered to help Rafe clean up, and Malfinn agreed, shooting both his brothers looks that they would as well.

“I helped last night,” Geirfinn grumbled, shaking his head. “And I sleep at the school with Everett so why do I have to get stuck doing KP?”

“Because we need to talk and this is what I’m doing and I’m the one with the knowledge,” Malfinn stated firmly, sounding very in charge and authoritative.

Which apparently I liked because I got hard while bringing plates to the sink, staring at Malfinn and licking my lips. Yikes! One round of good sex and apparently I was going to turn into a hound that jumped his mate all the time.

Not that all our problems were solved by having sex. No, not even close, but only time would tell if he was really a good guy as he was acting now that his soul wasn’t stained with evil or if he was simply playing us all for fools. I really did think this was who he was… I simply hoped who we were could actually be compatible with each other.

Fate seemed to think so but then again fate had us meet when his soul was stained and did not tell me how to fix that or anything was wrong or a lot of other things that made no sense so I did not value fate all that much anymore. Not until it redeemed itself in my eyes.

Yes, I was funny like that. But quirks made us all loveable as Boris always said. Personally I think he simply said that to justify why he did not strangle his five very different brothers he practically had to raise.
