Chapter Six
The next workday, Wells found himself nervous as he walked into the bay. He still didn’t know what had gotten into him the previous evening. Not that he had any regrets, especially since everything had turned out so wonderfully. It was just Wells wasn’t usually so forward.
He’d just been so turned on sitting next to Jaret, breathing in the warm scent of the other man, that Wells couldn’t help himself, he just had to touch. Once he got started, he couldn’t stop. Before he knew it, he was all but stroking Jaret off. In front of Dallas, too.
Not that Jaret complained any. He had spread his legs apart and all but begged for more. He even pouted a bit when the playtime had come to an end. It had been both cute and amusing.
Wells found Jaret in the back of the rig, already doing inventory for the day. He looked up at Wells, and damned if Jaret, the man who was the king of cutups and practical jokes, didn’t blush and duck his head. Wells couldn’t help but chuckle a bit.
“So are we still on for tonight?” Wells asked.
“Yeah, that is, unless you changed your mind?”
Like there was any chance of that. If Jaret had any idea how sexy he looked at the moment in his uniform, his tight body in a squat as he counted the inventory, a stray lock of brown hair falling over his amazing set of eyes. It was all Wells could do not to jump into the rig and plant a kiss on Jaret’s full lips.
“There’s no way in hell that I would ever change my mind,” Wells said, straining to keep his voice even so he didn’t give away how turned on he was at the moment.
“Good, because I’ve been looking forward to it.”
Wells felt a thrill of happiness go through him. So Jaret really did like him. The events from the previous night hadn’t just been a fluke. It was all Wells could do to stop himself from grinning like some kind of idiot.
Wells climbed in and began to help with the inventory. All the while, he was painfully aware of how close he was to Jaret. Wells smelled him, was aware of every one of Jaret’s movements…hell, he could even feel Jaret breathing on the back of his neck.
This was going to be one hell of a long shift. There was no doubt about it. Wells just hoped he could make it the entire time and keep his hands to himself. At this point, he wasn’t making any promises.
Finally, they were finished with inventory and stocked up for the day. Wells got behind the wheels while Jaret called in to tell dispatch that they were in service for the day. Wells expected to be sent to one of the various stations so when they got a call instead, his adrenaline started pumping.
“We have a man down on the corner of Hill and Dort Highway. Priority one,” dispatch said.
Wells flipped on the lights and sirens and started to drive in the right direction of the call.
