Rubi woke to find her head on Michael's lap. She had slept through half of the day and it was already evening again. Her face blushed realizing how long she had been in such a position. Michael had stayed awake the entire time and revelled at the vampire's embarrassment. Rubi was ashamed to hear Michael's recount of her subconscious actions. Why was she so pathetic? Rubi contemplated. First Michael, then Cain. Rubi's confidence had diminished. She began to beat herself verbally, reliving the moment Noah was taken. The young vampire decided she would have to be stronger.
